In traditional Sri Lankan culture, this Red Rice is hailed as a devine strain, known as "Pachcha-perumal". It has been used for centuries in "Danes' (offerings to monks), or used as an offering to the gods for rain and protection from crops. This variety of red rice is tasty and great for everyday meals. It is rich in nutrients and proteins, and takes on a rich burgundy color wen cooked. This red rice was fed to ancient Sri Lankan armies, as a "good carb". Includes cooking directions (basically, you cook it just like any regular rice).
